Dawan Residence Pingshan China February 2013

We stopped by the Minsk World (明斯克航母世界) which is a military theme park located in Dapeng Bay in Shatoujiao (沙头角) Shenzhen. It was opened in May 2000 and it includes the former Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk redesigned as a tourist attraction.

There is also an interesting place called The Dawan Residence (大万世居), around 40 minutes from the center of Shenzhen in the Longgang district,. It is a fort square Hakka (客家) dating from 1791. On entering the residence, you will see an inscription in four characters on the red banners "东鲁旧家" which literally means "the old families of the Shandong, district of Read". The old Hakka think that the ancestor of the residence is Zengcan, also known as Zengzi, one of the main disciples of Confucius. The residence was placed on Guangdong Province's list of protected historical sites in 2002 for its value in researching the origins, customs, architecture and irrigation methods of the Hakkas. Since this is around the Chinese New Year, there are lots of fire crackers remains on the floor. This is the first time our twin come so close to the fire crackers and they got the chance to play with the kids-friendly paper firecracker and they love it! [edit description]
